FUNDING

Barry Smitherman runs the Service with the part time help of his wife June, and their daughter Diane, and with volunteer helpers. WRAS relies entirely upon voluntary donations.

In 1997, in recognition of many years of hard work, WRAS was successful in its application to become a Registered Charity, but this does not provide income and the Service is still as much in need of funds and practical help as it has ever been. WRAS is always in desperate need of funds, not only to complete the Treatment Centre but simply to cover the day to day cost of running and maintaining the ambulance and rescue equipment and repair and maintenance of animal housing, as well as the treatment and feeding of the patients.

We would be grateful for any donation, however small. See our contact page for address for sending cheques or POs. You can donate a one-off or regular amount on line by clicking here. Gift Aid can be processed through this link.

If you prefer to donate regularly through your bank please download our Standing Order Form, print it and fill it in, then take or post it to your bank. If you are a taxpayer it helps our finances if you fill in a Gift Aid Form and send it to us - or why not call into the Centre and see the animals. You can give us your forms or give a donation directly there.

We have an adoption scheme to raise funds - you might like to consider 'adopting' one of our resident animals. You will receive an Adoption Certificate and a photo, and a Christmas card from your adopted animal friend each year. The money you give for adoption helps to buy food and bedding for the animals and helps towards veterinary fees. Adoption Forms are available for download, or from the Pay Cabin at the entrance of the Centre, or by post if you send an s.a.e. (See our Adoption Page). The animals can't thank you for your help, but we will be grateful.

Please note that all downloadable forms require a pdf reader to be installed on your computer. Foxit pdf reader is free (recommended) and can be downloaded from here. Adobe Acrobat Reader is free from here.
